GCP in house training – PhD Program FM UGM Batch 3

PhD Program Faculty of Medicine UGM in collaboration with UGM-RTC has successfully conducted in house GCP course batch 3 on June 1-3, 2016. Participants were PhD students/researchers with thesis research focus on clinical research involving human subjects. Twenty participants were trained in Batch 3 and total of 55 participants trained within 3 years of period. From this continuous GCP course available for PhD students funded by PhD Program, it is expected that quantity and quality of research will be improved through implementation the principles of GCP in their respected thesis and in their future research. In this batch 20 participants were trained with total of participants in 3 batches are 55 trainees (shown in figure and graph). read more

GCLP in house training FM UGM – Batch 6 (Nov 2015)

UGM RTC has been organised GCLP in house training for staff and laboratory technicians since 2011. Twenty four staff were trained in this last batch. Until 2016, 6 batches of GCLP were held and total of 123 staff, lab technicians and researchers were trained. After almost all of staff working in the lab trained, it is planned to continue the annual laboratory visit for 15 labs in the Faculty to assess the GCLP implementation and give recommendation for improvement. read more

GCLP in house training PhD Program, FM UGM Batch 2 (May 30 – June 1, 2016)

PhD Program Faculty of Medicine UGM in collaboration with UGM-RTC has successfully conducted in house GCLP course batch 2 on June 1-3, 2016. Participants were PhD students/researchers with thesis research focus on clinical laboratory research involving human subjects. Eighteen participants were trained in Batch 2 and total of 36 PhD students/researchers trained within 2 years. From this continuous GCLP course available for PhD students funded by PhD Program, it is expected that quantity and quality of research will be improved through implementation the principles of GCLP in their respected thesis and in their future research. In this batch 18 participants were trained with total of participants from 2 batches were 36 trainees. read more

National GCP Course – ICE EBM Network, Nov 2015

Center for Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) FM UGM has been appointed as the secretariat for Indonesia Clinical Epidemiology Evidence Based Medicine (ICE EBM) Network since 2015. In order to improve quality of clinical research in National level, ICE EBM Network and UGM RTC held the 3rd Batch of National GCP course in Bali – Indonesia on Nov 12-14, 2015. The organization of this course was funded by Biofarma (a pharmacy company), while travel costs of each participants were covered by each institution. Graph 3 shows that 75 researchers from universities under ICE EBM Network have been trained for GCP. Twenty six trainees were trained in the 3rd Batch located in Bali with aims to reach researchers from middle and eastern parts of Indonesia which were from Bali, Makasar, Kupang, Malang, Jember, Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Palembang. The next batch of National GCP course – ICE EBM will be held on Dec 2017. read more

GHRP in house training-PhD Program Batch 1, 2016

The effort of Institutionalisation GHRP in FM UGM has been shown by conducting this GHRP course for PhD students for the first batch in the year of 2016. Twenty participants were trained in this first batch. The module has been adapted based on need of the students. Prior the course participants should submit a short description of their proposal that will be grouped into 5 and selected 1 proposal to be used for discussion. Positive feedbacks were received from the participants as this course fit to their current and future need as students as well as lecturer/researcher in their institution. The next batch will be held on June 2017 funded by PhD Program FM UGM. (Reported by Ktut Palupi) read more

Yogyakarta – Indonesia. Center for Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (CTM-UGM) with the support from WHO/TDR has successfully conductedthe first batch Regional Course on Implementation Research (IR) at the Phoenix Hotel, Yogyakarta from October 7 to 10, 2015. With intensive of lectures and group works, this 4 day course aims to develop IR capacity in both individuals and institutions, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, where the greatest needs for expanding IR capacity persist.This course will introduce participants to the concept of IR, tools and materials relevant to IR and facilitate the development of IR proposal. read more

1stBatch of Regional Course on Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP)

Yogyakarta – Indonesia. The first batch Regional Course on Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) was successfully organized by Center for Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada with the support from WHO/TDR at the Phoenix Hotel, Yogyakarta from September 1 to 3, 2015. Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) is a guideline in using laboratory samples for clinical studies. For some years, it has been internationally recognized that clinical laboratories processing specimens from clinical trials require an appropriate set of standards to guide good practices. This course aims to disseminate and share the experience and knowledge on the principles of GCLP particularly in developing countries with its limitation in lab facilities. The couse was delivered through lectures, discussion, laboratory visit and problem analysis which focuses on a series of modules. read more

First Batch of Regional Course on Good Health Research Practice (GHRP)

Yogyakarta – Indonesia. With the support from WHO/TDR, Center for Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (CTM-UGM) has conducted successfully the first batch of Good Health Research Practice (GHRP) Course at the Eastparc Hotel, Yogyakarta from July 27 to 30, 2015. The goal of this course is to impart knowledge and skills onimplementing concept and principles of good research practices in human health research. This course provides participants with the necessary tools to facilitate the design, conduct, record and report of research project according to ethical and quality principles. read more

Training on GCP in University of Padjajaran, Bandung

Center for TB and HIV, Faculty of Medicine, University of Padjajaran, Bandung in collaboration with CTM FM UGM held the first batch of training on GCP for their researchers. This 2 day course was conducted on September 26-27, 2014 in Serela Merdeka Hotel, Bandung West Java. It was delivered by 2 facilitators i.e dr Jarir At Thobari PhD and dr. Rovina Ruslami, Sp.PD, PhD through interactive lectures, discussions, and case studies. This GCP training was attended by 23 participants who are medical doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, transporter and administrative staff. They are involved in 3 main projects in the Center i.e TB Meningitis ReDEFINe, RTC LTBI, and Tandem (TB DM) Projects. Feedback from participants shows that this training is useful for them particularly for its relevance to their study. The second batch is planned to be conducted in May 8-10, 2015 with the financial support from FM University of Padjajaran. read more
